SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday, 7:00 to 8:00 PM via Zoom

Join us Sunday evenings for our education hour.

Current Topic: by Heart Conversations with Martin Luther’s Small Catechism

The great reformer, Martin Luther, was a prolific writer and theologian, but as he visited local congregations, he realized that the people (and the pastors!) were in need of an easy-to-use study guide to use as a catechism to explain the core tenets of the Christian faith.  In 1529, he wrote The Small Catechism which has been used ever since to teach young people and adults alike about the Ten Commandments, Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the sacraments, and living a life of faith.  But, can a 500 year old text still be truly meaningful to us today?  Join us on Sunday nights for conversations as we explore the Small Catechism text through the analysis of prominent Luther scholars using the book by Heart Conversations with Martin Luther’s Small Catechism.

BIBLE STUDY

Tuesday, 1:00-2:00 PM via Zoom

Each week we study the upcoming scripture lessons that will be part of Sunday’s worship.  We explore the history and context of the Bible stories, how the text speaks to us in our current 21st century context and guides our faith formation.   We encourage conversation and dialogue among all attendees recognizing that we learn better together!
