Loads of Love at Trail Laundry
Loads of Love is a free laundry service for those in the community who do not have access to a washer/dryer. This service is offered the first Tuesday and third Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:30 pm at Trail Laundry, 25 S. Market St., Duncannon. Neighbor Helping Neighbor Food Bank, Inc.
This local ministry helps supplement the food budgets of qualified Perry County households. Christ Lutheran has made many donations of food to this organization as its needs are always heavy. Join Hands Ministry
Join Hands Ministry offers a wide range of services and assistance programs to Perry County residents. Referrals are accepted from all sources as long as they are within Perry County. Our church faithfully provides supplies and monetary donations from our noisy offering to help offset their costs in providing much needed services to county residents. CommunityAid
CommunityAid is neighbors helping neighbors by accepting donations to create quality jobs, offering an affordable shopping experience, and supporting nonprofit partners serving our local community. They are a faith-based, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that employs more than 500 people across seven Pennsylvania thrift stores. They partner with hundreds of local nonprofit organizations that provide service in communities by donating a percentage of sales and product to support their neighbors in need. Christ Lutheran is one such organization. We are a virtual partner with Community Aid and from the donations we give to them, we receive a residual to help with our own community outreach efforts. Indian Mobile Mission
We have been sponsoring Navajo Indian children since the early 1990's. Currently, we sponsor two children who live on a reservation in Arizona. Through the work of the Indian Mobile Mission, food, water and other supplies are delivered to the remote areas of the reservation where living conditions rival third world countries. St. Barnabas Center
Every summer CLC participates with the St. Barnabas Summer Camp Ministry, located in Harrisburg. This ministry reaches children in the uptown section of the city and provides a safe place for them to learn and grow. They aim to build positive self-esteem and confidence, forge leadership skills building on the eight pillars of character.
