Getting to Know You

Meet David (Hatch) and Pamela Dobbs

We welcome Pam and Hatch to Christ Lutheran’s church family! They officially joined the congregation on February 15, 2026, coming from Mannsville Lutheran in Elliottsburg.
Both are Perry County natives and were high school sweethearts who graduated together from West Perry High School. Hatch comes from a
family of three brothers and one sister, while Pam has two sisters and two brothers. They reside just outside of New Bloomfield and share their home with an 18 pound Lynx Himalayan kitty named Ocean.
Pam retired from the Department of Welfare for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. She enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and doing counted cross stitch.
Hatch retired from Anderson Logistics (Anderson Windows & Doors). He enjoys hunting and reading, especially Civil War books, and is a part-time Civil War reenactor with Bucktails Company B. He is also a member of the bell
choir at Christ Lutheran in New Bloomfield, which explains why Pam sometimes attends worship on her own.
If you’re wondering about the origin of Hatch’s nickname, he has gone by “Hatch” since the 7th grade, when his basketball coach told him to “hit them like a hatchet!”
Pam has been a familiar face to many in the congregation. She was the Perry Conference LWR collection contact for the quilts and kits. It was through this ministry that she became acquainted with Beverly Reifsnyder and Gail Smith when they would deliver boxes of quilts to be shipped to New Windsor, MD. She became a part of the LWR quilters and says she was warmly
welcomed by Beverly, Gail, Shirley, Velma, Becky and Ben. Pam also attended Pastor Jenn’s Black History Month series with her sister Deb Reeder for several years.
Hatch and Pam have been the voting members from their prior congregation at various Perry Conference and Synod Assemblies which is where they became better acquainted with Pastor Jenn, Lisa, Bill and Cindy.
We thank God for these siblings in Christ and look forward to ministry together.
